Wolffe's Ways

I do this every Tuesday night mind you... But last night was a bit, 'pumped up' from usual as I finally got to stand before Him and say "I completed my oath not to cut my hair for over four years!" And I had the evidence in my hand to prove it... Because I was given the braid that she cut off... So now it lies on my altar as my representation for Tyr. I know, it's a strange thing to represent Him but...All things considered. I want to something 'ceremonial' with it I'm not sure what though.

It was such a special occasion that I used to mead to blot with. I also used my 'special' drinking horn, the one with the Thor's Hammer on it that holds half a bottle of mead, so there was a good amount of mead offered. We did not go half way even though there were only two of us and not very many rounds done. I think four in all...

There were some sad points to the blot though. As I remembered the daughter of a friend of mine who died this weekend etc. :( But it was a good blot and celebratory in the main.

Well the decoupage project is complete! I am very happy with how it actually looks! As soon as I can, I will have pictures of it posted on the journal. I think that folks will find my mastery of the nature of craft excellent yet again! It took me all day and most of last night in order to complete the project honestly. I was up until after midnight working on it, but the results were worth it. The surface is glossy and shines beautifully. I honestly think that it will last for a long, long time to come.The piece of wood that I had to work with was really nice and I hope to be able to attach a hanger to the back of this and hang it at some point, though for now just 'leaning it' will have to do.

I had considered doing both sides of the wood and making it really 'fancy' but I don't think I want to go there, there is such a thing as 'overkill' and this is really a great piece in and of itself. No, folks it's not because of the amount of work it would take to do the other side either, but simply because I think that this expresses what I wanted to say. :D I do want to do more decoupage projects in the (near) future. My enthusiasm for this art form has been whetted.

35. The pleasure was worth all the pain.

Well I honestly think this goes to me opening the invitation for my eldest son's graduation yesterday. Wow that was frickin' awesome! Yes oh yes it was. It has been hard, I mean really hard to get to this point. He's had a not so easy time of it. What with my ex and me going at it a mile a minute at varied points of his life. Then Dwain up and dying on him. And me and the Stepmother have not always worked well together either. But here he is, graduating High School and on his way to go to France! I'm sure that he is thrilled just thrilled to finally be getting to spread his wings and fly. I know I'm thrilled for him. I love him so much and I'm proud to see the young man he has become. Really proud. So yes, I would say that this is a direct reference to that moment in time yesterday when I was just so happy I wanted to do the happy dance. You bet it was. Go him!

So, all the front rooms are done and the hallways. I have the veggie stock done, and I'm about to do the kitty litter. I also am going to do a load of laundry because in order to make the veggie stock clear I had to strain it through a towel since I used some potatoes in it and they made it cloudy. Go me. So. How awesome am I? Very awesome. You bet. S still is not home, and when he gets here he's going to be very satisfied with the way the house has come together. We may even get some 'quality time' which would be the ultimate in awesome. I am going to have a lot to brag about in Blot tonight about myself I think. I am really thrilled. I haven't felt this good about a day in quite some time. I have to get the kitty litter done pronto though as I have surgical gloves on to keep my hands germ free and my hands are sweating. Ick. At least it keeps me 'on task' as it were. I want to get dinner started very soon as I have no idea really when he is going to walk through the door. Yeah.
